Building on over 40 years of educational excellence, HMDC continues in the tradition of industry engagement and advancing the careers of Canada’s leading managers.

THE PROGRAM

HMDC is a 5-day learning program for managers who are being prepared to assume wider responsibilities within their organizations.  HMDC provides an opportunity for managers with specialized backgrounds to develop a broader based management capacity.

THE CONTENT

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Guelph facilitates interactive learning opportunities where hospitality professionals and world-class Guelph faculty explore, develop and apply ideas, to advance business and personal success.  Course content is designed to address the ever-changing needs of hospitality professionals and organizations.

THE BENEFITS

Participants gain an invaluable connection to other professionals in the hospitality industry and Guelph faculty.  The on-campus experience is the beginning of a life-long connection to the University of Guelph and its ever expanding base of knowledge and relationships.

Through peer-group and individual learning activities, using industry case studies, you will better develop your analytical skills, business knowledge and management capacity. You will take away potential solutions to many of the problems you face day-to-day with tangible benefit to you and the companies you work for.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Past participants have included supervisors and managers in single and multi-unit operations, both in operational and administrative positions.  Examples include unit managers, district managers, F&B managers, chefs, restaurateurs and hoteliers.

Prior HMDC grads are encouraged to attend in order to upgrade their skills in a changing economy.

All fees include tuition, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner & breaks), on-campus parking and educational materials. Accommodation for the 4 nights is not included.
Once registered, we will recommend several accommodation options in the area.

Please note our cancellation policy. If cancellation occurs within 4 weeks of the program start date and a replacement is not sent, an administration fee of $250 will apply.
